Chicago [Going East or West]:  John "RJ" Horvatinovic is the first to herald and name this routing known affectionately as the Peotone Bypass.  Note that that this routing crosses I 65 so you could if preferred jump on that interstate.     http://www.mapquest.com/mq/1-lSqK   Takes you to MapQuest where you can check it out.  "RJ" reports that When coming from the east, you will cross Rt53 just outside Wilmington, Illinois.  This is the original Rt66.   

Frank Podgwaite first called this route to our attention.  And the BMW Party Riders Of Greater Toledo are undoubtedly the group that has used the bypass the most in their annual pilgrimage to the Iowa Rally and Bill Zuber's Restaurant.  Zum!Zum!
